After swimming or a beach day, reach for double-layer muslin cotton. The open weave lets damp little bodies breathe and dries fast in the sun, so there is less time sitting in a wet suit. Wrap up first in a layer of muslin cotton, then change into a muslin romper, shirt, or set once dry.

We like muslin for swimming days because of how it handles being wet. The open weave dries fast and stays breathable, so it does not sit damp and heavy against skin that has been in the sun and the sea. It creases easily once dry, that is just how the weave behaves, nothing to worry about.
Something soft and breathable to wrap them in the moment they come out of the water, before they even get dressed.
One piece to pull on over a damp swimsuit for an easy change at the beach or by the pool.
Light enough to throw over bare shoulders for the walk back, and breathable once the sun is high.
A top and bottom to change into once they are fully dry and ready for the rest of the day.
It's best to pat them dry first. Muslin dries fast, but putting it straight over something soaking wet will still leave it damp for a while.
Shake out any sand, then machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and skip the fabric softener. Tumble dry low or hang to dry.
