Breathable muslin cotton dresses for babies and toddlers, designed in Bali for warm days. Light, soft, and easy to dress up or down.
For a toddler in humidity, the cut of a dress matters as much as the fabric weight. A loose A-line lets warm air move up and out from the body; a fitted dress in the same fabric traps it against the skin and undoes the advantage. Ours are cut wide through the hem for that reason. The muslin is light enough to move in a breeze, which is also why these photograph well on a beach at the end of the day and why they pack down to almost nothing.
Because the silhouette is loose rather than fitted, a dress that fits at eighteen months usually still works at two years as a shorter length. That is the main reason we cut them this way: a fitted dress is outgrown at the chest within a season, while an A-line simply becomes a tunic. If you are buying ahead for a trip, sizing up is the safer error.
Cool wash, gentle cycle, no softener. Muslin creases readily and that is part of how it looks — if a crisp finish matters for a particular day, a warm iron on the reverse takes it out in seconds. Otherwise hang it damp and let the weight of the water do most of the work.
