We get asked a lot what to put a toddler boy in for a birthday party, something that looks nice for photos but still lets him climb, run and sit on the floor with cake in his hands. Muslin cotton works well for that because the loose weave breathes and the fabric moves with him. We make Epic's pieces ourselves in Bali, so here's what we'd pick.
A matching top and bottom set that looks pulled together for photos without fussing over two separate pieces.
A shirt he can pair with pants he already owns, a good lighter option if the party's somewhere warm.

The open weave lets more air through than a tightly woven fabric, so it helps on a warm day, though nothing keeps a toddler cool once he's been dancing for an hour.
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and skip the fabric softener. Tumble dry low or hang it up. Muslin also creases easily, that's normal and not a wear issue.
