We get asked about stains and washing more than almost anything else, so here is what actually works on our own kids' muslin clothes. We're Vanessa and Bob, a small family business designing in Bali, and muslin is what we dress our own kids in too. Its open, breathable weave is what makes it so comfortable, but that same looseness means it needs a bit of care to stay soft for years.
Our go-to for everyday wear: two soft layers of muslin that stay cool in the heat and only get softer with every wash.
Simple to change and easy to layer, good under the set or worn alone on warmer days.
