Fabric comparison
Muslin and regular cotton are both just cotton, the difference is in how the yarn gets woven. Muslin uses a loose, open weave that leaves tiny gaps in the fabric, while regular cotton, like the poplin or jersey you see in most baby clothes, is woven or knit tighter and closer. Neither one is wrong, they just behave differently on a hot day or after fifty washes.
